BROOKLYN TO RAISE THE ROOF WITH FARM
Bright Farms, a private company that builds greenhouses, announced plans to build a soil-less greenhouse on a roof in Sunset Park, reported the NYTimes. If it reaches fruition, it is expected to yield a million pounds of produce a year and will rank as the largest rooftop farm in the United States.
The farm will use a method called hydroponics, using a solution of water and nutrients instead of soil.
