BROOKLYN TO RAISE THE ROOF WITH FARM
Bright Farms, a private company that builds greenhouses, announced plans to build a soil-less greenhouse on a roof in Sunset Park, reported the NYTimes. If it reaches fruition, it is expected to yield a million pounds of produce a year and will rank as the largest rooftop farm in the United States.
The farm will use a method called hydroponics, using a solution of water and nutrients instead of soil.

BRING FIREWORKS BACK TO EAST RIVER
Some elected officials announced last week that they are rallying to have the Fourth of July fireworks moved to the East River again, as opposed the Hudson River. Instead of providing a free show to our Jersey neighbors, this would bring the tradition back to the City and share the view with Brooklyn.
